When I first started dreaming about our laser business, I knew the name had to feel joyful, creative, and faith-filled, while still being broad enough to cover all the kinds of products I wanted to make—cutting boards, coasters, keepsakes, ornaments, and more.

At first, I leaned toward names like Joyful Creations and Joyful Creations Workshop, since “joy” has always been at the heart of my vision. But I quickly realized that those names were a little too common, and I wanted something that stood apart.

I explored nature-inspired names—dragonfly, giraffe, lotus, lark, firefly, oak, brook, and more—because I loved how they tied in beauty, peace, and a sense of timelessness. We also played with pairings like Walnut & ___ and words around “time” and “tokens” because I wanted to capture the keepsake side of our products.

Through all that exploration, a theme emerged: your products aren’t just objects, they’re personal, lasting marks—symbols of connection, memory, and meaning. That’s when Kindred Marks surfaced. It carried the sense of family, connection, and belonging (kindred), while marks captured both the literal engraving process and the idea of leaving a legacy.
